The raw material procurement

The raw material procurement is achieved by means of:

• Supply from traditional suppliers based in province;
• Direct purchase from domestic raw material markets based in Ulaanbaatar;
• Direct purchase from the suppliers who visit the company

The Primary production

The primary production consists of hand sorting, scouring and de-hairing production and pressing in bales. Having an annual capacity to process 1000 tons of cashmere and 200tons of camel wool, the Gobi Corporation has become one of the five largest cashmere processing companies worldwide.

All quality of animal originated raw materials such as cashmere, camel and yak wool as well as angora is sorted by fiber's color, quality and fineness manually at the factory.

The scouring production is capable of processing 300-400kgs of wool and cashmere per hour, using "Futabo" machines made in Japan. The annual de-hairing process capacity averages 300- 350 tons of de-haired cashmere and wool, utilizing 27 sets of "Torigoe" machines made in Japan.

The Dye House

The production constitutes the dying and blending processes that has a capacity to dye 120-130 tons of de-haired cashmere and camel wool by yarn and stock dying methods in different weights, from 5 to 75kgs, per year. The equipment used for stock dying is made in Japan, and for cone dying is "Scholl", made in Switzerland. The dye materials are the special dyed-in-the-wool materials made in the internationally recognized company "Ciba Geigi" from Switzerland. Presently the company has the capacity to produce up to 800 colors such as solid, melange and mouline.

The Spinning

The woolen spinning line installed at Gobi 1 factory has a capacity of 145-150tons of spun yarn in count from 9/2, 11/2, 12/2, 16/2, 24/2, 26/2 and 28/2 from 100% cashmere and camel wool for both knitwear and woven goods, using machinery made in Japan and Italy. The line of high-worsted yarn installed at Gobi 2 factory has a capacity to process 15.000 tons of high-worsted yarn in count 40/2, 48/2, 56/2, 60/2 and 72/2 from 100% cashmere and camel wool, for woven goods, using machines made in Japan and Italy.

The Weaving

The weaving facility produces 140,000-150,000 length-wise meters of woolen and worsted fabrics, scarves, shawls, throws, plaids and blankets using equipment made in Japan and Italy, annually.

The Knitting

The knitting is the one of key products of the Gobi Corporation and has a capacity to produce 500,000pcs of garments in 3.5gg, 5gg, 7gg, 9gg, 10gg, 12gg, 14gg using flat knitting hand and computerized machines made in Germany (Stoll), Japan (Shima Seiki), Italy (Conticompletti) and Taiwan (Flying tiger) and in addition, fully automated machines for socks and gloves made, per annum.

Design

Design in excess of 2,000 styles in over 800 different colors meeting customer needs and demands. All our knitted garments are produced on semi-and fully automated machines made in Japan (Shima Seiki), Germany (Stoll) and China (Flying Tiger). Produce tailor-made goods created from high quality woolen and worsted fabrics made from cashmere and camel wool such as coats and suits for both individual and bulk order using state of the art technology and machines.

At present the company works in direct collaboration with top designers from Europe and America. Thus the Gobi Corporation always has its finger on the fashion pulse and can fully anticipate fashion trends.
